Japanese EUC code set

The Japanese EUC code set supported by each company is listed in the table below. Each item of the list is explained below.
  1. Vendor name

    Indicates the name of vendor. In case one vendor has multiple code sets, the name of each code set is indicated together.

  2. Code point range

    Indicates the range of values assignable to each byte of the relevant code set.

  3. Character shape

    Indicates any specification on the shape of the characters supported by the code set (for example, difference between 1978 and 1983 editions of JIS X 0208.)

  4. User/vendor defined characters (Gaiji)

    Indicates the range of user and/or vendor-defined characters supported for the relevant code set.

  5. Code set name

    Indicates the name of the code set used for code set conversion, etc.

  6. Locale name

    Indicates the name of the locale where the relevant code set is valid.

  7. Remarks

    Indicates other items to be mentioned in particular.
